AR Presentation Coke
A bottling plant is a very noisy place. Strict hygiene rules make guided tours for visitors even more challenging. So, how to explain the recycling process of bottles and the functioning of those peculiar machines in a way that visitors can get the idea? Well – that´s a great use case for animated Augmented Reality! For the Coca-Cola logistics plant in Hohenschönhausen in Berlin, White Void and meso image spaces co-developed an AR presentation for visitors before their brief tour around the facility. To explain the different working steps, the guide would hold the corresponding machines “in his hand” and spin them around in front of the audience. In a projection behind him, the virtual machines appeared in full operation on top of different printed cardboards he would hold. This way, visitors could not only see the processes from all angles but sometimes even have a look inside the machine.
A specific challenge for the content creation was a surprising lack of documentation material. The spatial structure of the machines and movements of mechanical parts had to be reconstructed from photos, videos, notes and sketches created on site.
