Customers who want to pick up their newly manufactured car straight from the plant are offered a prestigious waiting lounge at VW Autostadt Wolfsburg. Just like at the airport, customers should never lose the current schedule out of sight. White Void´s concept of status messages running over multiple 360-degree display rings guaranteed best readability from any angle and also suited the desired extravagance perfectly. Two technical solutions and multiple spatial arrangements of double-sided display rings were conceived, designed and refined. Meso image spaces supported the process of decision making and customer communication by simulating the closest selection of designs in 3D. The selected variant uses almost 180.000 mechanical flip dots and is considered the world´s largest display of its kind.
